There is often too little attention given to the muscles of our bodies, although it is these very muscles which must carry the strain of emotional or physical tension. It is therefore important to restore the suppleness of the muscles occasionally. Whenever this does not occur regularly, the chance exists that the muscles become cramped and the tension is felt as pain in the body. Examples are pain in the neck and shoulders, headaches, ’mouse-arm’ (rsi), aching feet and back pain.

 

Breathing

With the help of the Integral Massage both the suppleness of the muscles and mental relaxation can be achieved. The word ’Integral’ already implies it – both body and mind. The basis of this combination is breathing. A good concentration on gentle and regular breathing reduces a great deal of tension and gives relaxation. The aim of the integral massage is to achieve a balance between body and mind.
